Buddy Baker, who was the musical director for hundreds of Disney movies, TV shows, and theme-park rides, died Friday , July 26, 2002 in Sherman Oaks, CA at the age of 83, the studio announced Monday. In 1999 he was awarded ASCAP's Lifetime Achievement Award. In the late 1930s and early '40s, he worked as an arranger for numerous "big bands," later writing arrangements for countless radio programs ranging from "The Jack Benny Show" to the "Standard (Oil) Symphony Hour."<<
Of course, we'll remember Baker best for his marvelous tune, "Grim Grinning Ghosts (The Screaming Song)."
